Steve McIntosh is a very troubled man who devises a plan to come to terms with his life’s greatest failures. As his tenuous grasp on sanity begins to unravel, however, he quickly realizes that he may be out of his depth. Undeterred by mounting failures, he struggles to keep his plan on track, even as the circumstances spiral badly out of his control.
Diane Edwards falls prey to McIntosh but refuses to play the helpless victim. Relying on her limited resources, and driven by her unyielding sense of hope, Diane fights against all odds to save herself from the delusional maniac’s increasingly horrific intentions.
Will the bravery and sacrifice of a handful of strangers converge to overcome the evil lunacy of a desperate and deranged sociopath before his murderous endgame is realized?
Convergence Mark Laakso Books
The most important aspect of a book is the story and with this effort Laakso weaves together a fine tale of suspense and murder. He deftly moves back and forth between characters and their circumstances. With each revelation you are drawn to a point of intrigue or excitement only to have to transition to the next character's plot line. Although you are initially disappointed to change viewpoints, by the time you return to the previous character's narrative you discover you don't want the current one’s to end! The characters are believable and hip and one is quite scary! The word Convergence perfectly describes the manner in which they are drawn together. I enjoyed the Kansas/Colorado setting, an area of the country I have spent little time in. I also enjoyed how seemingly insignificant facts are later used to develop a character’s motivation. (Example: Black Lincoln Town Car). I would have liked to have read about Sgt Curtis’s reaction to the conclusion of events. I felt the reason for Kim’s original attraction to Steve could have been fleshed out a little more. These two minor issues did nothing to detract from my overall enjoyment of the book. I highly recommend it.Product details

Convergence Mark Laakso Books Reviews
One of the better more suspenseful books I have read. If you like suspense novels, I highly recommend this one. Finished it over a weekend- couldn't put it down.
Excellence suspense novel! I loved how the various characters came together. It thoroughly held my attention through all the twists and turns. I highly recommend this book.
The novel ROCKED!!!
Excellent book! Very suspenseful and didn't want to put it down! Congrats on a job well done, Mr Laakso!
An excellent debut novel! Very suspenseful with some unexpected turns. The story is well thought-out, and the characters a multi-dimensional. A dark one, for sure, but definitely a page turner. Recommended!
Couldn't put it down! Masterful twists and turns...highly recommended.
Absolutely thrilling novel. Picked this up to read it during a trip and I ended up finishing the whole thing over a weekend. Gotta see if this Lasko dude is doing a book signing somewhere. It's wonderfully dark and thrilling. Hope he writes more!
